Safe Driving Tips for CMP Auto Customers

The weather is starting to turn here in Calgary, AB, and since so much of the year in this part of the country is so much colder than we’d like it to be, it’s easy to get excited about the warmer temperatures. Some people get so excited to be out making the most of their GM automobiles in the warm weather that they forget how to drive with safety in mind. Knowing that, we’d like to remind Calgary Cadillac drivers of a few driving safety tips as we head into one of the busier driving seasons of the year:

First and foremost, the best way to stay safe while driving is to actually focus on the road. It sounds simple, but distracted driving is one the most common causes of auto accidents and can easily be avoided simply by keeping eyes on the road rather than on devices or other distractions. The best way to be the best driver is to keep 100 percent of your attention on the road at all times.

Beyond that, it helps to drive defensively, which means being aware of your surroundings and any potential problems those surroundings may cause for you. In other words, assume that everybody else on the road will do something unexpected, and be ready for anything. Some ways to help with this are to maintain at least a two-second cushion between you and the car ahead of you, and even longer if the weather is bad.

Other than that, just driving vehicles like the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Equinox help with safety thanks to advanced safety features and good crash test scores. If you’d like to check these vehicles out in person, head on down to CMP Auto and let our vehicles help keep you and your family safer than ever!
